We recently had the chance to enjoy the In-Touch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival! It was our first time, and the first time any of us had seen a hot air balloon launch. It was definitely the highlight of our weekend! Unfortunately, some strong winds from the north threatened to blow all the pretty balloons toward downtown Dallas which would have been really dangerous, so most of them stayed grounded and once the announcement was made that no more would be launching, we left the park. I did not get to enjoy the balloon glow or the fireworks, but I was pretty tired of sitting on the ground and
All my life I have loved hot air balloons. They fascinate me and the bright colors always make me smile. A few years ago I learned that there is an annual balloon festival - The Plano Balloon Festival - less than 2 hours from where we live. I've wanted to go, but something has always come up. This year, thanks to tickets from a client of mine, I get to go! And not just me... My whole family. I am so excited and I can't wait to share the photos with you all!
You all know I was excited about the Tech and Travel Roadshow and getting to attend the Dallas Auto Show. Well, it was an amazing two days and I had fun. I drove a Camero. See? Fun. Tech and Travel Roadshow Event If you're a blogger and you love technology and travel, you need to make it out to one of these events hosted by Techcilicious and Traveling Mom. Besides for a brief presentation and getting to meet-up with local bloggers in your niche, it's a great opportunity to connect with companies in your niche in an intimate setting. One of the most beautiful places to visit in Dallas, TX, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is open year round and is always beautiful, no matter the season! Masterful landscapes, water features and a walk along the lake make this a very peaceful place, but it's also a photographer's dreamland! Get up close and personal with some beautiful flowers and insects. Enjoy a stroll through a bamboo forest and play in the many fountains. Our kids love this place as much as we do! The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden website has maps, a schedule of events and everything you need to know to plan
Much smaller than other zoos and almost entirely indoors, the Dallas World Aquarium is a perfect rainy day or cold weather to-do in Dallas, TX. Our family has been many times and we always enjoy the exhibits and performances. My personal favorites are the wild cats... yes, at an aquarium! This place has some of everything from manatees to sloths. My son's favorite is the walk-thru shark tunnel. The staff at the Dallas World Aquarium are very knowledgeable and helpful. They make sure everyone has a good time and the animals seem to be well cared for. Admission starts at $12.95 for kids and goes up
Our romantic weekend getaways usually find us at The Harbor in Rockwall, Texas. We stay at the Hilton on the lake in a room with a view of the lake and we spend the evening eating at one of the many fine restaurants, watching a movie at the theater and walking around enjoying the lights, fountains and the docks. Our favorite places to eat are Ruby Tuesdays and Gloria's. For lodging, the Hilton on the lake can't be beat. It's modern and has beautiful lake view rooms. [sc:adsense] Then, if you're so inclined, take a walk around the docks, enjoy the light house, go for a ride on a sailboat, or
