Last night on my way home from Dallas where I met with the BlissDom crew I was listening to Chris Mann's new album, Roads. Actually, since no one was in the car with me I was listening to it very loudly and signing and singing along... I now have a sore throat. Ahem. I should have stuck with just signing one handed while driving. (stupid cold/flu) I can't wait to see if he'll be performing again at BlissDom this year!! I have this crazy dream to someday perform sign language to You Raise Me Up while Chris Mann is singing. Live. The song makes me want to sign anyways and Chris's heartfelt rendition

How do you feel about Country music? I've always said I have an open mind when it comes to music. I love and appreciate music and I can usually find something I like in every genre. For all of my life tho, Country Music has been near the bottom of the list. I know why; I appreciate a clear voice and let's face it, Country puts a lot of emphasis on twang, nasal sounds and not necessarily 'clear' anything. I do appreciate that it's a story-genre, and when I find a song I like, I really love it. One of the most-played kid movies in our house is Cars. Rascal Flatt's song, Life is a Highway has been burnt
I have a weakness for piano music. At age eleven I began saving for a piano. By age thirteen I had close to $300 saved. Around this time, my parents found out about my savings and my passion, and for my thirteenth birthday, they bought me a piano and a year of lessons. I took lessons and loved it. I still find playing to be the best release, most relaxing activity, and purest form of expression for me. I only had about a year and a half of lessons before my family moved to bluegrass country and a good teacher couldn't be found. I continued to play on my own, picking things up here and there until I got
I'm a huge fan of Sarah McLachlan and I was so tickled today to find this free download of a Christmas song she and her School of Music students recorded!! Download at spaceonthecouchfortwo.com Watch on YouTube: Read my review of Sarah McLachlan – Laws of Illusion! It's still one of my favorite CDs of all time!
When all the men in your family (and trust me, my mother in-law are very out numbered!) are crazy about an artist it would be absolutely silly to turn down the opportunity to review said artist's new release, especially if it means you might be able to give one of them a copy of the CD... Yes, my father in-law is crazy about Neil Diamond. His sons, my husband included, grew up listening to Neil and it's family legend that Dad once owned many Neil Diamond records before Mom sold them in a yard sale... (Yea, we don't go there.) My personal favorite? Song Sung Blue. I love the beginning piano riff. The
