I was recently asked how people get badges and widgets for social networks in their blog's sidebars. Truth is, there are hundreds of plugins out there that will help you with theses, but I prefer to use the original code from the platform! Fewer plugins equals a faster site and a lot of times, these codes are so easy to generate it's faster than installing something! Google + Badge You can either grab some code from google here or, you can use a plugin like New Google Plus Badge Widget to get a great looking Google+ badge for your WordPress sidebar!
Ok, y'all are gonna have to excuse my Texas accent for a few minutes while I gush and go on about this awesome new plugin I'm usin' and lovin'. For a very long time I've been lookin' for a good Pinterest sharing plugin for WordPress. I've tried so many I've lost count, and due to Pinterest's constantly changin' API and integration, plugins that used to work, stop, and new ones come out every day. I finally decided I'd pay for a good one if I could find one. I did. It was crap. And then, I got an email 'bout the Pin Attraction Plugin. This plugin is brand new. It launched last week. So, you have a WordPress site with multiple authors, and as the editor, you're always swamped with editorial calendars, editing, and scheduling of posts. You wish there was some way to make this whole process easier. Enter my favorite plugin combo, Color Admin Posts (modified) and Edit Flow. Edit Flow is the ultimate plugin for multi-author blogs. I'm a huge fan of the Genesis framework and all the child themes from Studio Press! I'd even venture to say they're my favorite themes to use and modify so when a client asks for recommendations, I send them to StudioPress Themes for WordPress first. Check with your web host provider to find out if it is included in your plan. WordPress has many features including a large website template system, a visual design platform for rearranging widgets without having to edit the code and the ability to switch themes at the click of a button. Plugins can be added to your WordPress website to have it do almost anything that you can imagine. If you are looking for an easy
Backing up your WordPress site doesn't have to be a big deal. There are plugins for backing up WordPress databases and some of them even allow you to schedule regular backups so you don't have to worry about it again. Which WordPress Backup Plugin to Use? I personally like the WP DB Backup plugin by Austin Matzko. This plugin allows me to backup my site manually, as well as schedule daily, weekly or monthly backups. I can also choose to include or exclude certain parts of the database. It's never necessary to backup spam comments, so I exclude that...
