Say it with me: 2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Limited. That's the one you want. That's the car I didn't want to give back. You see, I've had a love-hate relationship with anything smaller than a mid-size SUV since gas prices went up. I bought my first sedan when I was 20 and I've been stuck with one since. They get great gas mileage and for that, I love them. But, they're not what I gravitate towards. The 2015 Toyota Avalon changed that. I'd buy one of these, the Hybrid in the Limited edition mind you, tomorrow, if I were shopping for a sedan. Why?
The 2015 Lexus RX Hybrid introduced me to upscale hybrid crossovers. I've driven a few crossovers, but nothing you'd expect to be high-class, and certainly none that were hybrids. Heck, I've only driven a few hybrid sedans. I was expecting to fall in love with the luxury the Lexus brand is known for, and disappointed with the hybrid engine. The opposite was true. The Lexus RX wasn't as high-end as I'd expected. The hybrid engine left nothing wanting. There was plenty of power and it was actually really fun to drive. This is coming from a girl who loves V8 engines and grew up driving large trucks,
We have a Toyota Camry and before purchasing it we put a lot of time into researching cars, trying them out and talking to car owners before we decided what we wanted. So when Toyota asked if I'd like to drive the all new 2015 Camry XSLE for a week I was really excited to compare it to our 2010 Camry XLE and see how it measured up to the car we drive every day and love. Small Car, Tall Guy. And Child Seats. Our little family of four can still call a sedan a family car. Sometimes. Our biggest issue is my husband's height. Of all the mid-full size sedans we've tried, the Camry is the only one he can sit
Never ever ever. Those are the words I've always said when people have hinted at me someday needing a minivan. My family made it up to 8 kids and back down to two at home without ever stooping to minivan status. Surely they aren't a necessity. And a minivan could never be cool. Or so I thought. A few months ago we went on a road trip. 14 hours from Texas to Florida. We rented a minivan. By the time that trip was over I was warming up to the idea that at least for trips, minivans are practical. Then Toyota lent me a 2015 Sienna and my mind was made up. If ever I need a minivan, Sienna is the one
There's nothing like a good family vacation to test a vehicle. With two kids in car seats and 3 adults, nothing short of an SUV with third row seating would work, and something small like a crossover might seat us all, but leave us cramped. That's why I was really excited when we were offered a 2015 Yukon to review for this trip! We've driven a Yukon XL Denali before and loved it so much. We didn't get the XL this time, but we still had plenty of space for everyone and our luggage! Meet Violet, The Great Purple Beast. At first I couldn't decide what color this vehicle was. In certain light it
Earlier this month my husband's entire family set off on a 12 day adventure from north Texas to Minnesota and back. Since Hub's parents were also traveling and the guys had some work to catch up on, we split up and us ladies took our small car with the baby and Hubs, our oldest son, my brother in-law and father in-law drove the Yukon XL that GM Texas loaned to us for the trip. I was excited to meet up with the guys when they arrived in Detroit Lakes, MI. The adults were exhausted from driving 20 hours straight, but our five year old claimed he'd slept and watched movies all the way up and he was wide
