Like an ocean breeze, blowin’ on Your face, Like a summer sun with its warm embrace, Like a gentle rain plays a symphony; That’s what I want my praise to be! Like a fragrant rose in the early spring, Just like an eagle soars when it spreads its wings... (My Praise - Philips, Craig, & Dean) Like an Eagle Soars Nature praises its Maker, just by being what He created it to be. Eagles don’t have to try to swim to praise God, they just go about life the way they were created to, and God is praised. Why then do we get confused about praise? Why are we always talking about how to praise,
The idea of being one's own boss is tantalizing. I hear all the time, when I tell people I work from home, that it "must be so nice to only work when you want to." I cringe when people say that. Yes, my life is a little more flexible than the 9-5 employee, but I don't work less, or just when I want to. Freelance - working for different companies at different times rather than being permanently employed by one company. - via Google Not Everyone Can Work Freelance Truth is, freelancers are a special breed of people. Without a whole lot of determination, a good dose of business sense, and a
My husband found this tiny gecko crawling on the couch. I caught him and released him outside, but not before taking his picture. I love critters of all kinds and this guy was just so beautiful. I was tempted to keep him overnight to show the kids the next day, but I knew it would be selfish to keep him indoors. Last year there were 3 adult geckos living on our carport. This year there are 4. And this is the second baby we've caught and put outside. They come out at night and eat the bugs that gather near the lights. My kids and I love getting home after dark and counting the
Life has brought a lot of changes and busyness. I've found myself unable to keep up with a multitude of sites. 2015 has been my year to pare down to the basics. And on that note... Two for the Price of One I've combined my old design portfolio and services site with this blog. It just made sense to have them both in one place and to have only one site to maintain. New Look, Same Great Website In addition to combining my sites, I've given this one a makeover. It was high time to bring some of my personality to the site and come up with an actual logo. You'll see the changes reflected everywhere
Every so often a really cool project comes my way. When the Wildflower Festival needed someone to write bios for the ten finalists in their singer-songwriter contest, a friend recommended me. I hit it off with the content coordinator, and the rest is history. I had the distinct pleasure of getting to interview these artists, some by phone and some via email. I even got to meet one of them and hear her in concert! Writing about their lives, their art, and their passion was an honor. Thank you, Angela, Annalise, Cherie, Crystal, Lola, Brad, Frank, George, John, and Richard for taking the time to share
My hair and I have a love-hate relationship. It pretty much does what it wants to. Some days, I love the results. Most days my hair ends up in a ponytail because what it does on it's own just isn't acceptable. Truth is, I have baby fine hair. Always have. Unless it's really long, it doesn't stay in twists and braids. Most clips slip right out. Hairspray is always needed. Today I'm going to tell you about one of my new favorite things; something that keeps my hair where it should be, and looks pretty too!
