We have a Toyota Camry and before purchasing it we put a lot of time into researching cars, trying them out and talking to car owners before we decided what we wanted. So when Toyota asked if I’d like to drive the all new 2015 Camry XSLE for a week I was really excited to compare it to our 2010 Camry XLE and see how it measured up to the car we drive every day and love.
Small Car, Tall Guy. And Child Seats.
Our little family of four can still call a sedan a family car. Sometimes. Our biggest issue is my husband’s height. Of all the mid-full size sedans we’ve tried, the Camry is the only one he can sit in comfortably. His head does touch the top, but he doesn’t have to bend over too much to fit. I was hoping maybe the 2015 would be an inch or two taller inside, but alas, that’s one of the things that didn’t change with the new body style!
Child seats are another issue. The bulkier transitional seats the kids need between infant seats and boosters can be really difficult to get in and out of mid-size sedans. I was pleased to find I had no issues with the new Camry! The boys had plenty of room and while we’re down to a single booster these days I did try the big seat and it fit just fine. Win!
Getting Groceries in the 2015 Camry
Another huge selling point for the Camry is its large boot. OK. Americans call them trunks, but I can’t help it. I like the term boot better. 🙂 Like our own Camry, one of the things I love about the new Camry is that is really does have enough room in the back to hold a week or two’s worth of groceries, or luggage for 4 people! For a sedan, it’s huge!
The 2015 Camry XSLE is a Sporty Ride
Boy was it fun to drive! It has a bigger engine than the 2010 we own and the get-up-and-go was FUN! The exterior and interior makeovers brought the Camry out of the classy mid-size car that kind of blends in to a stand-out fashion statement automobile that turns heads. The interior was my favorite: black leather with red stitching. BAM! Hot.
I actually reviewed the 2015 Toyota Camry for She Buys Cars and you can read my full review there and see the many photos I tool of all my favorite features!
