I’ve always been a fan of music that features the piano. I learned to play when I was thirteen and I still get butterflies every time I see a beautiful piano. The cello was an instrument I never paid much attention to since I wasn’t a fan of violins till I became an adult. I’m still pretty picky about what I’d consider good violin or cello music. The Piano Guys combine good cello with amazing piano and I’m quickly becoming a fan!
Sony sent me a pre-release copy of The Piano Guys’ new album, Wonders, which can be found in stores on October 7th. I have been listening to it over and over. It’s so hard to pick a favorite song: my favorite varies day to day and mood to mood. Some of the songs are slow and relaxing while others have a lot of pep and can actually raise my heart rate! Today, Father’s Eyes (track 5), is especially dramatic and beautiful. It reminds me of the sun peeking through the clouds after a storm. Kung Fu Piano is pretty awesome too. It’s like a glorious victory celebration. I love it!
As a huge nerdy fan of Batman I absolutely can’t neglect to mention Batman Evolution. This tract is The Piano Guys’ interpretation of Batman theme songs over the years. You can watch the music video now. And trust me when I say watch it all the way to the end. Past them trying to sell their new album, all the way to the bloopers. Holy cheese factor, Batman!
From the press release…

Their previous albums – The Piano Guys and The Piano Guys 2 – continue to claim the top positions on Billboard’s Classical and New Age album charts since their release.
