Bloggers have no shortage of options when it comes to writing implements. Alia covered this topic well when she discussed the differences among desktops, laptops, smartphones, and plain old pen and paper. Her conclusion makes enough sense: it all depends on the needs of the individual blogger. Yet there is one option not presented, and it might be the most versatile option yet. Tablet computers have become hot items. For bloggers they present a number of ups and downs that could very well make them the best option for writing posts and conducting research.
Not a Saturday car
For many people, a tablet is a luxury. Desktops and laptops are seen as more practical devices. We’re more familiar with them, which makes everything easier. Smartphones, though relatively new and unfamiliar, are also seen as more practical. They’re small and ultra portable, and they also serve the familiar function of a cell phone. Yet tablets seem out of place. They have screens smaller than laptops, they don’t fit in pockets, they don’t have keyboards, and they don’t have the familiar operating systems that power our desktop and laptop computers.
I am currently considering the Asus Eee Pad Slider, because it has a built-in keyboard that slides out if you have a table to use it on, but can also be used as a normal tablet otherwise.
That’s probably a good one! My husband has their Netbook and he loves it!
