It’s that time of year! The Blissdom Conference is next week and once again, I’m thrilled to be attending! Spending real face-to-face time with the people I speak to on a daily basis is such a refreshing experience. I’m really looking forward to getting to know more people this year!
What makes this year different for me? This time, I get to share my bliss with others. The things I’m passionate about… technology and design!
For the entire conference I’ll be part of a brand new committee of Community Leaders called Blissdom Tribes. Along with @chilihead and @wendyscherer I’ll be welcoming anyone who feels they belong in the #tech niche. We’ll sit together on the first day, (and any time after!) we’ll talk about the things we have in common, learn from one another, and the tribe leaders will be available to answer questions attendees may have about the conference. On Saturday my fellow tribe leaders will be gone, but I’ll still be around, so if the tribe wants to, we’ll meet up for an unofficial roundtable, coffee, or maybe join a photowalk or something.
Also new to me this year… speaking. No one who meets me describes me as shy, but deep inside, there is a place of fear… public speaking. Fortunately for me, there are two fabulous women joining me for the Wisdom Workshop on Wednesday where we’ll be talking about Blogging Platforms, Hosting, Stats, Plugins, Deisgn, and HTML/CSS. We plan to break into groups and cover the topics one at a time, allowing people to rotate from one group to the next. This setting will allow for more discussion and freedom. If you have a question, you’ll feel like you can ask it without sitting in the back of the room with your hand raised for half and hour. The amazing geek women who’ll be leading this with me? @TheAmyTucker and @motherbumper
